Innotek Free Spirit Training Collar Instructions

| Updated September 26, 2017

Things You'll Need

  • Innotek battery charger

  • Small flat-head screwdriver

Innotek manufactures training collars for dogs so you can correct bad behavior and encourage good behavior. The Free Spirit training collar delivers stimulation to your pet through a receiver when you press a button on the transmitter. Teaching your dog commands first and then imprinting them with a training aid will help your pet to understand what is expected of him.

Pull the gray plug out of the charging jack in the collar. Insert the charging jack into the collar and plug the charger power cord into an electrical receptacle. Allow the collar to charge for twelve to fourteen hours before the first use.

Unplug the charger from the collar and press the gray plug into the charging jack in the collar. Touch the two red paper dots on the ends of the collar together to turn it on. The green indicator light will start blinking to indicate that the collar is on.

Place the collar on your dog and buckle it so that you can place one finger between the collar and your pet. The receiver is in the front at your dog’s throat.

Place a small flat-head screwdriver in the slot of the battery compartment in the transmitter. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to loosen the battery compartment door and pull it straight off. Hold the transmitter with the antenna pointing down. Flip all three stimulation switches up to achieve the lowest level of stimulation. Replace the battery compartment door, insert a screwdriver and turn it clockwise to seal the door.

Press the button on the transmitter to correct your dog when he is exhibiting incorrect behavior. Your dog should slightly twitch his head, neck or shoulders to show he received the stimulation.

Press the button on the side of the transmitter to increase the stimulation level by two levels. After you release the button, the transmitter returns to the original setting.

Tips

  • The Free Spirit collar delivers stimulation as long as you hold the button in for up to ten seconds. Then the receiver in the collar locks out any additional presses on the transmitter for ten seconds.

If your pet does not respond to level one stimulation, increase the level inside the transmitter. There is a chart for each of the levels one through seven in the Resources section. Always start training a pet at the lowest level possible to get his attention.
